ABOUT THE SITE
Questions about Degree to License
What is Degree to License?
Degree to License is an independent resource for Florida therapists, created by Gabriel Benaim, LMHC. It brings together free tools and guides on licensure, pay, and starting a practice.
Who is it for?
It is for counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy students, registered interns, and newly licensed clinicians in Florida. The current licensure guides focus on mental health counseling, and the supervisor directory includes LMHCs, LCSWs, and LMFTs approved to supervise counseling interns. Social work and MFT interns should verify approval for their own internship type in the state license record.
Is it free?
The supervisor directory, hours tracker, licensure date calculator, and guides are free. The Supervisor Interview Kit costs $7. Some pages contain disclosed affiliate links, which may support the site when readers use them.
Where does the supervisor directory come from?
The directory uses the Florida Department of Health licensure file, filtered to active licenses with qualified supervisor approval for mental health counseling interns and records identified as being in Florida. Supervisors can update their listing or ask to be removed.
Who writes the guides?
Gabriel Benaim, a Florida licensed mental health counselor, writes the guides. His Florida license number is MH27298. Read more about his experience and how the site is funded on the About page.
